Always cleanse your face before bed!

You might look at that title and wonder why you need to be told this but believe it or not so many people forget to clean off their make-up and dirt before bed! I am even guilty of doing this sometimes. However, when you don’t do this before bed you are leaving behind lots of dirt and make-up that is going to clog your pores and cause unwanted breakouts! At night your skin is working hard, that’s why night creams are so popular and highly recommended. There are make-up cleansing wipes, gels, creams, lotions, milks, and foaming cleansers.

Some tips:
1. Double cleanse, this will ensure all dirt is removed.
2. Try samples, or smaller sizes to make sure the product doesn’t irritate you
3. Know your skin type, each skin type has a cleanser recommended for them
4. Once you find a product that works well, stick with it
5. Cleanse before bed as well as in the morning (oils produce at night)
6. Check ingredients if you have any allergies
7. Exfoliate before cleansing once or twice a week
8. Don’t use hot water, this will strip natural oils, warm will work
9. It’s best to pat dry instead of excessive rubbing
10. Use a gentle eye make-up remover first

One more thing to remember is that come winter time our skin becomes a lot drier and too much cleansing will dry it out even more. A good moisturizer is a must all year round, but especially in the cold, dry winter months.
