Acetone or non acetone?

Acetone or non acetone?

2013-09-30

Each day people go into stores such as the nail depot and aren’t completely sure if they should use non acetone nail polish remover or pure acetone. At nail depot we sell both products in 16oz bottles which is great for at home use, as well as gallons which is ideal for buisness use. Well here’s some information about both!

Acetone!

Acetone is a lot stronger than regular nail polish remover, so strong it is used to melt away acrylic and gel nails. It is now used for the newest trend which is gel polish as well, for quick and effective removal. If you have any sort of artificial nails and just want to take polish off then you do not want to use acetone!! Some people prefer acetone because it’s so strong and takes polish off very quickly, especially for stubborn sparkles ( you could be rubbing away forever at these if you don’t use acetone). Some people avoid acetone because it is extremely drying to the nail and skin, however using a cuticle oil afterwards will take away the dryness!

Non acetone!

This less potent polish remover contains no acetone and is often pink in colour, and sometimes blue. This is safe to use on artificial nails as it is not strong enough to eat away at them. It will also work great if you have just a regular nail polish on that isn’t filled with sparkles, and just want to remove it. It also used in salon and spas to clean up around the nail after applying polish and to dehydrate the nail before applying polish to get rid of oils that can cause your nail polish to chip faster. Some people prefer this as it isn’t as strong smelling and drying as acetone is.
